The lyrics say it all …

Slow down, you movin’ too fast
You gotta make the moment last
Just kickin’ down the cobblestones
Lookin’ for fun and
Feelin’ groovy

How about sharing happy songs that make you smile and feel grooVy?

Well, along with the 59th St. bridge song, S&G also have me smiling on “At the Zoo” – I do believe it, I DO believe it’s true!
Also, Spanky and our Gang starting out with “Blue skies, sunshine, what a day to take a walk in the park …” … “and what a day for sayin’ right out loud “I love you!” ” Lazy day …”

hahaa my memory thanks you for the smile!

V-Elf, loved it! I showed my son your link last night, and he just walked out of the room shaking his head…….but then, he’s 17 and still thinks all adults are a “bit touched!” (lol)

@MEB-NY And Ohio Express is still singing it in 2009! Show this to your son! Yummy, Yummy, Yummy

Hmmm? Maybe this should be under “Silly Songs” ?

Recently, at the Rochester 60s Spectacular the New Rascals sang, It’s a Beautiful Morning. Now, I’m by no means a morning person, but hearing that song, brought me back to Saturday mornings when I’d bring my “suitcase” phonograph out onto the front porch and play my favorite 45s and dance on the lawn before anyone in the house or the neighborhood woke up….who knows, maybe I woke them all up with my shenanigans, but boy, the memory of dancing cartwheels on the lawn to that song and many others brings back some good vibrations!

Dana, I remember singing Yummy, yummy, yummy, I’ve got love in my tummy to my young son – who to this day can’t believe such a silly song could have ever existed – only his lunatic mom could have made it up!

I’m with you on the Bridge Song. Done by Simon and Garfunkel or Harper’s Bizarre, it says “Happy”. Also think of the two Vanity Fair songs: Hitchin’ A Ride and Early In The Morning when I want to dance or lift up my spirits. Then again, I’ve heard someone sing the song I’m Into Something Good, which is full of hope. hahahahaha

When I hear the opening notes of Good Morning Starshine it always brings a smile to my face & the same memory … holding my newborn baby daughter in my arms as the song played on the radio and I sang along:

    Gliddy glub gloopy
    Nibby nabby noopy
    La la la lo lo
    Sabba sibby sabba
    Nooby abba nabba
    Le le lo lo
    Tooby ooby walla
    Nooby abba naba
    Early morning singing song

Who can’t smile when trying to remember THOSE lyrics! :-)
